Change of Idea and New Inspiration

After going over the group discussion we had in class last week and the critique on my idea (that was not polished) I decided to look more into the idea I had for this project and found something that I wanted to do more. A freelance Journalist named Esther Honig had conducted and experiment that explored the many personal and international views of "Beauty". By taking a plain photo of herself and sending it to a number of international photoshopers she received results that were unexpected and widely diverse for each outcome.

I want to see if this can be applied to a natural beauty (something of nature) and view the outcomes of what people want the world around them to look like through their ideals and their skills with photo editing of any kind. My main concern however is will I be able to get enough people to participate

Idea that holds promioss

So to go with my previous presentation on how photography is influenced by computer generated culture and how it shaping our expected views of the world. My idea is to create an interacted puzzle like structure where people can place images I've created in different aspects (Photography, Illustration, CG etc) and show what people view as an ideal image. This idea is to back how the ability to manipulate our surroundings captured with a camera can be so easily changed to the stage that people are becoming less aware of if what their viewing is true reality or just personal fabrication. It's only an initial idea to be honest but I believe it has some merits

Home Stretch

I've got my 5 photos and most of my information, now all there is to do is sought out the presentation as well as my delivery. I'm confident in my speaking abilities but what worries me is the nature of the presentation. All I can really do is make a flashy powerpoint since my coding skills are absent and I can't really think of any other way to format this that I myself can do. I'll just have to hope my delivery covers up for my lack of creativity with this presentation.

New Start

After having one of my friends in the same course as me explain what he had done and what was said about it I realized that my interpretation of this assignment was WAY off. I have since decided to change the subject matter of this assignment of mine (since we were given an extra week to fix them) to that of photography. this is also factor to the fact that I can present much better visuals that I myself created and link to the subject mater at hand. I gathered up some of my old photography works, old photos of Notre Dame I took and will take some new photos in order to capture the ideals I wish to explain in my presentation on Friday.
